Changing an Item Digit

1. When you first enter the Item Digit option a Select An Option window will appear with the following options:

• EXIT – Select EXIT to exit and return to the Item menu.
• PRINT LIST – Select PRINT LIST to print a list of item digits.
• A list of item digits: first digit, and fourth digit through eighth digit

Scroll to digit of the item code you wish to change and press Enter to confirm your selection.

2. A Select An Option window will appear with the following options:

• EXIT – Select EXIT to exit and return to the Select An Option window.
• ADD – Select ADD to add a digit.
• PRINT LIST – Select PRINT LIST to print a list of definitions for the item digit selected.
• A list of digits that have already been used.

Scroll to the item digit definition you would like to change and press Enter to confirm your selection.

3. Command options will appear:

• Change – Select Change to make changes to the item digit definition.
• Delete – Select Delete to delete the item digit definition.
• Exit – Select Exit to exit and return to the first Select An Option window.

Select Change.

4. You are now able to make changes to the Description line. Make the necessary changes and press Enter.

5. Command options will appear:

• Update – Select Update to save your changes.
• Exit – Select Exit to exit without saving changes and return to the first Select An Option window.

Select Update. Your changes are now saved.

Important: Your changes will not be saved unless you select Update.

Note: Changing the first digit to another item type will cause a warning message to display: "Warning, Changing Item Types for ALL Items. Continue? No/Yes." Select no and item types and associated items will not change to a different item type; select yes and item type and associated items will change to the item type of your choice (product, other, or carton). Changing a product item type to "other" or "carton" is not recommended because the field options available for carton types is unique from the product or other type item fields.
